Nozim is a finance professional, policy analyst, and public activist. He currently works in finance at the Leadership Institute. Nozim is also a board director and treasurer at the Poligon Education Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing Muslim American participation in Congress.
Originally from Tajikistan, Nozim was previously the Executive Director of the Tajikistan Free Market Center, a think tank that promoted economic reforms in this former Soviet country. His op-eds and commentaries on this subject have been published and quoted by many national and regional media outlets, including Radio Liberty and Asia Plus. After moving to the United States, Nozim completed internships at several U.S. think tanks, including the Cato Institute, Mercatus Center, and Texas Public Policy Foundation.
Nozim is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Commerce and Policy with a concentration in Global Finance at George Mason University. He holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from the Russian-Tajik Slavonic University. In addition to English, Nozim speaks Russian, Tajik Farsi, and Uzbek.
Outside of work and school, Nozim is passionate about teaching personal finance to the public, consulting on men’s style, as well as volunteering at his mosque. In his free time, Nozim enjoys studying Islamic sciences and psychology, watching science documentaries, as well as jogging, hiking, and traveling.
