Barrett Tetlow is a proven public policy leader, results-driven strategist, and constituency manager with nearly two decades of political and policy experience. He brings a wealth of campaign and political expertise to the Ada County region. He worked tirelessly in Republican politics for more than twenty years, most recently as the Chief of Staff to San Diego City Councilmember Scott Sherman and Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of San Diego County.

As Chief of Staff, he put Republican ideas into public policy action and advocated for restoring and strengthen property rights, reducing government regulation and fees, promoting school choice, and insisting on personal responsibility. He was an early and leading advocate for housing affordability to address California's housing crisis.

Barrett started in grassroots politics in 2002 and has managed numerous political campaigns and been involved in dozens more. He developed and oversaw the execution of strategic campaign plans that included staff management, volunteer and donor cultivation and retention, and communicating to voters through mail, media, and direct voter contact. As Executive Director of the Republican Party of San Diego County from 2008 to 2012, he managed operations of one of the country's largest county parties, with an annual operating budget of over $400,000 and a campaign budget exceeding $1 million. He served as a Central Committee member for nearly a decade and held leadership positions, including Vice Chairman from 2016-2020.

Before joining the San Diego Republican Party, he worked for three state Assemblymembers in both their Capitol and district offices.

Barrett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration focusing on strategic management and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Chico State University. He has an avid reader of history, especially classical Greek and Roman history. He has a passion for grilling, smoking, and dry-aging meats and enjoys hikes and snowboarding,

Barrett and his wife Julianna are "left coast refugees," and their first child was born in mid-February. They fled California to raise their daughter in a family-friendly environment. They currently reside in Boise, Idaho, with their dog Winnie and have family in Middleton, Idaho.
