Lauren Bianchi -  Former Guest Speaker at the Leadership Institute

Lauren Aronson is the Communications Director for Sen. Ted Cruz.  Her recent aapointment to the position follows an extensive career on the Hill as Communications Director on the House Budget Committee, Press Secretary on the Committee on Ways and Means, and also to the Committee on Education and the Workforce.   

Lauren was also a managing director in FP1 Strategies’ public affairs division where she developed and executed strategic communication campaigns. Lauren specializes in message development and media relations around consequential policy issues.

As Press Secretary for the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means, she served as a spokeswoman and strategic communications advisor for the first overhaul of the U.S. tax code in more than 30 years, as well as for prominent policy issues such as health care, trade and entitlement reform. Prior to her work at Ways and Means, Lauren was press secretary for the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where she helped lead the communications effort to reform the nation’s K-12 education system. During her time on Capitol Hill, Lauren was recognized as one of Forbes’ “30 Under 30” and Newsmax’s “30 Most Influential Republicans Under 30.”

Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Lauren managed public affairs and crisis issues at Burson-Marsteller and spent two years at the American Enterprise Institute handling media relations and external affairs for a variety of policy issues, including health care, economics and education. Lauren started her career as a Teach for America Corps Member in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she received her bachelor’s degree from Tulane University. Originally from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, Lauren currently resides in Arlington, Virginia, where she volunteers as a faculty member for the Leadership Institute’s communications workshops.
