The Public Speaking Workshop takes place at the Leadership Institute’s Steven P.J. Wood Building located in Arlington, VA.

Former speech writer for three presidential administrations, Dr. John Shosky, will be your instructor for this informative and hands-on workshop.

You will learn effective public speaking techniques and will be coached through a speech sample while receiving personalized critiques.

What to expect: This full-day workshop is split into two sections. In the first section, your instructor will give an overview of public speaking and lecture on verbal and nonverbal techniques. This section will be supplemented with videos and notes. You will prepare a short speech on a given prompt during a working lunch. In the second section, your instructor will allow you to deliver your speech. You’ll receive personalized feedback following your 3-5-minute presentation.
