Conservative Career Workshop
3 evenings, $100 (meals included)
The Conservative Career Workshop is for conservatives looking to work on Capitol Hill or within the conservative movement. If you are interested in working in a congressional office, think tank, non-profit, association, or a campaign, this is the workshop for you.
Capitol Hill veterans, including chiefs of staff, will teach you how to highlight your personal strengths to appeal to those who do the hiring. You will also learn interview skills, typical salaries for different jobs, and how to negotiate a higher salary.
Some Members of the U.S. House and Senate hire directly from this school – other Members send their new staff. Hundreds of graduates of the Institute now work in congressional offices on Capitol Hill and throughout various organizations within the conservative movement.
Topics covered include:
• various career options in the conservative movement
• negotiating salaries
• résumé and interview skills
• networking your way to success
• D.C. life and culture
