Digital Download: Twitter for Politics

23 days until event begins

What you will learn

Leadership Institute's Digital Download weekly training series teaches digital technology being used to shape America's electoral system.

Every Tuesday, this training series completes a "deep dive" into new digital technology and effective strategies about how to support your online activism and political efforts.

Become a digitally savvy activist and gain in depth knowledge of a variety of key topics in the digital field. With a mix of speaker presentations and panels, you will learn from center-right digital professionals how to best optimize your digital footprint.

June 14: Twitter for Politics

Twitter is one of the most powerful -- and fun -- tools for people who care about politics, but it is also one of the most daunting for new users. While smaller than other major platforms, Twitter consistently plays an outsized role in media and culture.

In this focused, online workshop, you will learn how to navigate Twitter confidently and use it to accomplish your goals in the public policy process. You'll learn:

  • how media, influencers, and elected officials use Twitter;
  • exactly what all the symbols (e.g. @, #) mean;
  • how to understand -- and use -- hashtags; and,
  • how to send different types of tweets, including with hands-on demonstrations and practice.

This training ends at 1pm Eastern / Washington D.C. time

Tuesday, June 14

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

This training is online.
