Candidate Development Workshop

32 days until event begins

What you will learn

"Winners aren't perfect. They made fewer mistakes than their rivals." - Morton Blackwell

You, your candidates, your campaign, and your volunteers are not perfect, but with training, you can make better choices, have a better strategy, raise more money, and make fewer mistakes than your political opponents. This is the goal of the Candidate Development Workshop.

The Candidate Development Workshop helps current and prospective candidates, their teams, and candidate recruiters identify the steps needed to run a successful campaign.

The workshop focuses on personal and political preparation for future service as an elected official and community leader. Additional on-demand content, which complements this material, is available to program enrollees.

Ideal attendees for the Candidate Development Workshop are individuals who are looking to become more politically active. Candidates, spouses, campaign staff, volunteers, activists, and political leaders involved at any level should attend.

Attendees will learn how to:
• Decide if someone is ready to run
• Organize a campaign staff and structure
• Raise funds
• Work with the media
• Communicate with voters
