Mr. Shuman honorably served in the United States Army from 2008 to 2012, most notably as a Military Police Officer, concluding his military career serving on the Arizona Army National Guard Honor Guard, providing military funeral honors for this nation’s fallen soldiers.

Following his military service, Matthew first attended college at Grand Canyon University and R.O.T.C. at Arizona State University before graduating from Marymount University in Arlington, VA, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. While working towards his degree, he worked on Capitol Hill for two members of Congress, with an intermittent break for the 2012 election cycle.
