Lawrence Provost -  Volunteer Faculty at the Leadership Institute

Larry Provost is a Leadership Institute alumnus who is proud to be back where he started in the Conservative Movement. Raised on a farm in upstate New York during the Reagan years, Larry never forgot his small town values or the influence of his grandfather and teachers on his conservative beliefs, one of whom told him about the Leadership Institute.

Larry has obtained several positions directly due to his Leadership Institute training.

From 2008 to 2012, Larry was Director of Commuter Affairs at Liberty University where his duties included overseeing the campus voter registration program. His efforts in designing and implementing an effective voter registration plan on campus led to the registration of over 10,000 students and affected the results of local elections every year during his tenure, including in the 2009 election for the 23rd District of the Virginia House of Delegates where a newcomer defeated an incumbent by a less than one percent margin of 207 votes.

He later worked for The American Legion National Headquarters as Assistant Legislative Director and Assistant Director for National Security. Larry currently works for a federal agency. He writes for Townhall.com, has written for Foxnews.com and other publications, and has been featured on FOX News discussing international adoption.

An Army Veteran with over 22 years of military service, Larry worked the search and rescue at the World Trade Center and later served twice in Afghanistan and also in Iraq, Kuwait and Tajikistan. He continues to serve in the Army National Guard and is a Chaplain Candidate, Second Lieutenant after 20 years of enlisted service, topping out as a Sergeant First Class/E-7.

Larry has earned a Master's of Divinity Degree from Liberty University, a Master’s Degree in Legislative Affairs from the George Washington University, a Master’s Degree in History from Liberty University, a Master’s Degree in Government from Regent University, a Bachelor’s of Political Science and a Bachelor’s of History and American Studies from SUNY Oswego. He is currently a student at the U.S. Naval War College.

Larry was a contributor to the 2008 Inquiry into the National Recognition of UK Armed Forces and a member of the Educator's Leadership Group for the Pentagon Memorial Fund from 2010-2011. He completed the 2014 Christian Leadership Seminar at the International School of Holocaust Studies (Yad Vashem) in Israel and was a 2014-2015 Leonine Fellow of the Catholic Information Center in Washington, D.C. He was the Honor Graduate for his class in 2015 at the U.S. Army Paralegal Training Center and School. Additionally, Larry was named to the HillVets 100 most influential Veterans in D.C. for the year 2019, was a 2020 HillVets LEAD Fellow and is a Summer 2021 Writing Fellow for the conservative organization America's Future.

Larry’s professional interests these days revolve around the elimination of anti-Semitism, building a stronger American-Israeli relationship, Afghanistan, the former Soviet bloc, and advocating for adoption.

He is a proud husband, father, and supporter of the conservative movement and The Leadership Institute.
