Phillip Linderman has been assigned as Principal Officer in the Consulate General in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

A Foreign Service Officer since 1990, Linderman has served in diplomatic postings in Port of Spain, Trinidad; Santiago, Chile; Havana, Cuba; Leipzig, Germany; and Guayaquil, Ecuador.  During domestic assignments, Linderman worked in the office to prevent passport and visa fraud; in the office to provide foreign assistance to the Balkans and Eastern Europe; and in the office to combat human trafficking.  He also served a two-year detail to the Organization of American States, where he established an OAS unit to combat human trafficking.  Most recently, Linderman worked in the State Department Bureau of Counterterrorism as the Office Director of Terrorist Screening and Interdiction.

Linderman has experience in U.S. government interagency cooperation. As a consular officer abroad, he has interacted extensively with DHS and DEA on numerous investigative cases.  He has worked with USAID and NGOs on foreign assistance planning and funding.  At the National Security Council, he has represented State in issues involving terrorist watchlisting and hostage policy.

Linderman has a BA from Oglethorpe University and a JD from the University of Georgia.   He is married with two sons.  His hobbies include tennis, history and film noir.
