Cyrus Artz -  Volunteer Faculty at the Leadership Institute

Cyrus Artz is the Republican Staff Director at the House Committee on Education and Labor.  

He previously served three years as Chief of Staff to Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC-05), after serving as her Legislative Director and Policy Advisor. 

As part of that work, he has run the House GOP Job and Resume Banks which connect jobseekers with openings in Republican offices on Capitol Hill.  Prior to working for Rep. Foxx, he was Professional Policy Staff for the Republican Study Committee (RSC), the caucus of conservatives in the House.  In addition to his policy portfolio, he coordinated the RSC’s job and resume banks.  Through that work, he has met with numerous job seekers, reviewed thousands of resumes, and kept a finger to the pulse of Capitol Hill’s job market. 

Prior to his work for Rep. Foxx and the RSC, Cyrus worked for the Hudson Institute and completed several internships around Washington, D.C.  He also served seven years with the D.C. Army National Guard.  Originally from Fargo, ND, he graduated from Christendom College in Front Royal, VA with a political science degree.
