Josh Wilson -  Former Guest Speaker at the Leadership Institute

Josh Wilson is a Grassroots Programs Coordinator at the Leadership Institute where he works to train conservative activists across the country. Hailing from Iowa, the first in the nation caucus state, Wilson is no stranger to politics.

Wilson previously served in former Iowa Governor Terry E. Branstad (now U.S. Ambassador to China) and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds’ administration as the Public Liaison to the Governor. In 2014, Wilson was hired by former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as an advisor to her Unlocking Potential PAC, which focused on engaging more women in politics and played a major role in electing Iowa’s first female U.S. Senator, Joni Ernst.  Most recently, Wilson worked for the Iowa House Majority Fund where he managed multiple Statehouse races throughout Iowa.

In the non-profit field, Wilson advised Generation Opportunity, an organization committed to helping young people improve their lives and ONE, an advocacy group that works to end extreme poverty around the world. Additionally, Wilson served as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society coordinating several of the organizations’ Relay for Life events. He has been a strong advocate for the cause since losing his mother to breast cancer in 2008.

Wilson has also successfully passed the U.S. Foreign Service Officer Exam. When not working, he enjoys traveling, both internationally and domestically.
