Angel Fimbres Barceló -  Volunteer Faculty at the Leadership Institute

Angel Fimbres Barceló is a proud native of sunny Southern California. Her political career began on the campaign trail in 2012 as a field rep on two different races in her voting district; one for Congress and the other for State Senate. Shortly after elections in 2013, Angel put her name on the ballot and won an elected seat on the Ventura County Republican Party Central Committee.

Her passion today is centered around grassroots advocacy and empowering community leaders to succeed. As National Chapter Director for Independent Women’s Network, Angel recruits and encourages leaders to host their own state chapters; inspire honest debate, advance ideas to promote advocacy, and promote free speech on the most imperative but sometimes controversial issues.

Prior to joining IWN, she was a Grassroots Trainer speaking to candidates and communities all across the US. Angel was also the Program Manager at The Heritage Foundation in the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy and before that she was the Director of Political and Fundraising Training at the Leadership Institute.

As a second-generation American she stays in touch with her roots by speaking Thai and conversational Spanish, which really means she can order the spiciest meal in two more languages. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Cal State University Channel Islands. Angel and her husband Joshua live in Los Angeles and are expecting their first child this spring.
