"Winning the election is a good-news, bad-news kind of thing. Okay, now you're the mayor. The bad news is, now you're the mayor." Clint Eastwood
The Leadership Institute's Campaign Academy is an intensive four-session program that gives candidates and those who support them the skills to fight and win in today's competitive public policy arena. Typically, the Academy runs for 4 months, meeting once per month in person; this Kansas Campaign Academy is unique in that we are making all the content available in just two weekends.
Each weekend of the program, participants will attend two full-day seminars focused on specific themes: Strategy, Communications, Fundraising, and Voter Contact. Additional on-demand content, which complements this material, is available to program enrollees.
Because this is a comprehensive program, participants will be asked to enroll and pay a one-time tuition fee. This fee allows attendees access to all seminars, webinars, and other on-demand course materials.
Ideal attendees are current and prospective candidates, campaign advisors and staff, volunteers, and activists interested in impacting public policy by helping candidates who share their philosophy win elections.
Attendees will learn how to:
• Create a campaign plan
• Inspire people to get involved and vote
• Build a strong base of supporters
• Raise funds
• Target, identify, and mobilize voters
The dates, times and topics of the sessions are:
Saturday, May 15, 8:30-5:00 PM, Strategy
Sunday, May 16, noon-5:00 PM, Communications
Saturday, May 22, 9:00-5:00 PM, Fundraising
Sunday, May 23, noon-5:00 PM, Voter Contact
