Mark Kelly -  Former Guest Speaker at the Leadership Institute

Mark Kelly works for freshman Congressman Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director. This is his second stint on Capitol Hill. He previously worked for Congressman Jim Ryun (R-KS) from 1996 to 2006. From 2007 till March 2011, Mark worked at The Heritage Foundation, last serving as Deputy Director of Coalition Relations. 

Mark has twice been a candidate for local office, running for Arlington County Board in 2010 and Clerk of the Court for the 17th Judicial Circuit of Virginia in 2007. In 2008 and 2009, he was Chairman of the Arlington County Republican Committee, and he currently serves on the Republican Party of Virginia State Central Committee. 
 
Mark earned a J.D. at Regent University and has been a member of the Virginia Bar since 1996. Prior to law school, he completed a B.S. in Political Science, History and Economics at Indiana Wesleyan University. He and his wife Keirsten reside in Arlington with their four children, daughters Layne and Mia, and sons Luke and Jake.
