Carter DeWitt -  Former Guest Speaker at the Leadership Institute

Carter is the Chief Development Officer of the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Her nonprofit experience is extensive, not just in fundraising by keeping the lights on at local, regional and national levels - but also on the other side of the philanthropic coin for she spent several years awarding grants to nonprofits as director of a regional foundation. She also has extensive experience in public relations, management and communications and feels this experience greatly added to her success as a fund raiser.

She is considered expert in direct mail programs, building corporate membership, acquiring foundation support, events, upgrading donors, creating engagement and major gifts. She has a background of taking floundering development departments and rebuilding them through short term and long term strategic planning. In each of her last three positions she expanded the funding base and they surpassed all records in annual revenue.

Prior to her role at the Daily Caller, she was the Chief Development Officer for Florida TaxWatch, a 34 year old independent, nonprofit taxpayer research institute and government watchdog.  Its mission is to provide the citizens of Florida and public officials with high quality, independent research and analysis of issues related to state and local government taxation, expenditures, policies, and programs. Florida TaxWatch works to improve the productivity and accountability of Florida government. Its research recommends productivity enhancements and explains the statewide impact of fiscal and economic policies and practices on citizens and businesses.
