Adam Weinberg -  Former Guest Speaker at the Leadership Institute

Adam Weinberg is the Communications and Outreach Director for the Platte Institute for Economic Research in Omaha, Nebraska,  providing information on the Institute’s research and policy solutions to Nebraskans, the media, elected officials, and community organizations. A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Adam began his public policy career as a Legislative Assistant in the North Carolina House of Representatives. In Raleigh, Adam initiated his office’s social media engagement strategy and generated state and local media coverage to help pass bills expanding opportunities for blood donation for young people and improving picture ID formatting to prevent the sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors.

In 2008, Adam joined Morton Blackwell’s Leadership Institute as a Field Representative, eventually becoming a permanent faculty member for the training organization as its California-based coordinator. Adam was responsible for identifying, recruiting, and training conservative and free market student leaders on campuses across North America, and has mentored hundreds of students in every state west of the Rockies. With his knowledge of media and message management, his students have appeared in media outlets including Fox News, CNN, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County Register, the Huffington Post, the Daily Caller, and numerous other local television and radio affiliates. In 2010, Adam began directing Western U.S. field programs for Young Americans for Liberty, building the organization’s network from scratch to become the largest national student effort of its kind.

Adam is committed to helping champion successful policies in Nebraska that can set an example of prosperity for the whole country. The books that inspire him the most toward effective communication for free market ideas are The Law by Frederic Bastiat and Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt.
