Campaign School this Saturday in Radford, VA
The Leadership Institute will host a campaign school in Radford, Virginia this Saturday, September 18 at 8:30 a.m. for volunteers, community activists, elected or party officials, current or future candidates, and campaign managers training them to win a campaign.The campaign school helps activists to “be more effective and energized in the 2010 elections,” LI's Grassroots Activist Schools Coordinator Chris Doss said.Sessions are taught by experienced professionals, including Morton Blackwell, founder and president of the Leadership Institute. LI hosted a similar campaign school this past Saturday, September 11 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Vicky Hartzler, Leadership Institute graduate and volunteer faculty member, won the Republican primary for Missouri's 4th Congressional District on Tuesday, August 3rd. She credits "the grassroots partnership of people across this district" for her win. Hartzler, former state representative from Harrisonville, MO, defeated eight opponents, and now faces current Congressman Ike Skelton in the November general election. Leadership Institute’s International Seminar Brings Together a Diverse Crowd of Conservative Activists
Conservatives from Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Romania, USA, and Mongolia, arrived in Washington, DC to learn how to effectively defeat the radical Left. Travelling from as far away as Mongolia, these students attended the Leadership Institute's International Seminar, a power-packed training which gives foreign conservatives an opportunity to learn from their American counterparts. Over the course of a week, students learn how to effectively utilize the internet, television techniques, and traditional grassroots networking to advance conservative candidates and causes. The speakers included Bruce Eberle, Stephen Clouse, Mike Rothfield, and other great leaders in the conservative world. For over thirty years the Leadership Institute has worked with conservative leaders around the world to help increase the number and effectiveness of activists dedicated to limited government and personal responsibility. May's training continues an excellent year for the Leadership Institute's international Programs, with several additional International Seminars scheduled throughout the year.>

The Leadership Institute held its second Campaign Manager School of the year during the week of April 26-30, 2010. Fifty-nine students from around the United States, Japan, Nigeria, and Germany attended the training. LI's all-star lecturers taught students how to build coalitions, craft an effective message, and use technologies to get-out-the-vote in November. Additionally, over 40 students attended the corresponding Political Voter Mail Workshop on Tuesday evening, where they learned tips on creating and distributing effective political voter mail.>

The Institute just completed a highly successful International School of Fundraising at Wellington College in the United Kingdom.On March 30 to April 3, 2010, 81 participants representing 23 countries shared an intensive time of give and take on fundraising issues. Topics ranged from Crafting a Successful Letter of Inquiry to Developing a Database of Donors, to Getting and Keeping Major Donors.Substantial time was devoted to systems, processes, methods, technology, and technical issues that are indispensable when managing a large list of donors, even if the organization is a start up.>
