Sarah Smith -  Former Guest Speaker at the Leadership Institute

Sarah Smith is a development officer at Americans for Prosperity, the largest free-market grassroots organization in the country. Previously, she served as a recruiter at Positions Inc., specializing in government relations, association, and non-profit placement.

Prior to recruiting, Sarah was the manager of political research and the K Street Project at Americans for Tax Reform (ATR). There she ran ATR’s job employment service and the monthly Americans for Tax Reform Job Listings. Sarah started her career in Washington interning with the Republican National Committee major donor program, the Eagles. Sarah is also a veteran of many campaigns, such as the Bush/Cheney ’04 re-election campaign, where she worked as the Pennsylvania team leader & field representative for the College Republican National Committee.

She has also served as the Chair on the DC Steering Committees for the releases of critically acclaimed independent films, Bella and The Stoning of Soraya M. Currently, Sarah serves on the board of Political Chicks RightNOW. She received her B.A. in International Affairs with honors and a concentration in Spanish from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA.
