Chaz Cirame

Chaz Cirame is the Principal at CC:External Affairs. CC: External Affairs is a strategic relationship management consultancy that works with clients to build and leverage relationships in the areas of strategic alliances, intergovernmental affairs and fundraising.

Previously, Chaz worked as Senior Director of Membership and Meetings for American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the nation’s largest nonpartisan individual membership association of state legislators. Chaz oversaw ALEC’s membership and development department, directed fundraising, and state legislative recruitment operations. During his time at ALEC he successfully increased fundraising fifty percent--from six million dollars to over nine million a year. Chaz set new organizational records for new donor recruitment, legislative recruitment and meeting attendance.

Prior to joining ALEC, Chaz served as Director of Development for S4, a nonprofit dedicated to Social Security reform, and as a Major Gifts Officer for the Leadership Institute.

Beyond nonprofit-fundraising experience, Chaz is a veteran of dozens of political, referendum and issue campaigns in Virginia and his native state of Maine. Chaz is an alumnus of the University of Maine Augusta. Chaz worked his way through college while simultaneously working as an Aide to the Maine State Senate Leadership. Chaz is a past President of the Washington Area State Relations Group; an association of DC based state government affairs professionals.
