Tom Schultz

Grassroots Coordinator

Tom Schultz

Tom Schultz is a Grassroots Coordinator at the Leadership Institute, where he travels the country training conservative activists and elected officials in campaign management, communications, fundraising, and grassroots activism.

As a native of Iowa, Tom's interest in politics stems from his time campaigning for presidential candidates during the Iowa caucuses. He has also worked on several municipal, legislative and statewide campaigns in Arizona, Iowa, Montana, Tennessee, and Utah.

Tom is a voter fraud hawk who dedicates most of his time toward fighting to protect election integrity across the country. During the 2012 election cycle, Tom served as campaign manager for the Republican candidate in a targeted race for Montana Secretary of State. In the 2010 election cycle, he managed a successful campaign for Iowa Secretary of State where he defeated the Democratic incumbent by three points.

Immediately following the 2010 election cycle, Tom launched a website to motivate grassroots activists to lobby the 168 voting members of the Republican National Committee to oppose Michael Steele's reelection for RNC Chair. His online activism was featured on Fox News, CNN, Talking Points Memo, The Huffington Post, The Blaze, and several newspaper and radio outlets.

Tom received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University, and his primary interests include applied politics and quantitative methods. He is passionate about merging the art of campaigning with the science by running randomized field experiments.
