Heather Ann Homan

Heather Ann Homan has over nine years of political campaign and public policy experience. Currently, Heather is a Political Training Coordinator for the Leadership Institute and is the lead coordinator for the department’s campaign and political trainings. Heather has organized, recruited, and managed four of the largest trainings in LI’s 32-year history.  After only six months of employment, Heather was named LI's Employee of the Quarter.

Prior to working at LI, Heather worked for U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich (R-OH) for five years serving in his state office and later on his legislative staff on Capitol Hill. In 2010, she was selected for a competitive national security fellowship and Foreign Policy’s “The Cable” listed Heather as a “Hill Staffer to Watch in 2010.”

Heather is the current National Committeewoman for the Young Republican Federation of Virginia (YRFV), Chair of the YRFV Outreach Committee, and Membership Chair for the Arlington Falls Church Young Republicans.  Essentially, she is responsible for recruiting new members to join the Party, YR club development, and building coalitions throughout the Commonwealth.

As a member of the YRFV Campaign Committee, she organized campaign deployments around the Commonwealth including the 2012 trip to VA Beach which was the largest in YRFV history. She also served as the Political Director for the DC Young Republicans where she organized and led over 400 YRs in campaign deployments throughout nine states, producing over 100,000 voter contacts and resulting in 13 successful Congressional campaigns.

In 2012, Heather graduated from the Jennifer Byler Institute, the Republican Party of Virginia's leadership program for women involved in politics.  Most recently, Heather was elected as an Alternate Delegate to attend the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. 

Heather has a BS in Criminal Justice from The University of Toledo, and in 2009 graduated from Bowling Green State University’s College of Business with a Masters in Organization Development. Currently, Heather is attending The Naval War College and is expected to receive her second graduate degree, a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.
