Jeffrey Shapiro

Since 2007, Jeffrey A. Shapiro has served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Adrian Smith, who represents the Third District of Nebraska.  In this role, Shapiro is the chief policy and political adviser to Congressman Smith, overseeing office operations across three Nebraska and Washington, DC locations.  Prior to working for Congressman Smith, Shapiro served as Washington Representative for General Mills, Inc., a Fortune 200 company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  In this capacity, Shapiro represented company interests before Congress and Executive Branch agencies and helped facilitate activity for the company’s political action committee.  
 
Shapiro previously worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Lee Terry, who since 1999 has represented Shapiro’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to serving as an adjunct faculty member for The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management, Mr. Shapiro is a noted speaker and leaders of seminars, having guest lectured for Georgetown University’s Semester in Washington program, the University of North Dakota’s College of Business and Public Administration, Johannes Kepler University’s Executive MBA program, and campaign colleges throughout the country. He serves on the Congressional Advisory Board to the Veterans Campaign and the Board of Directors for the House Chiefs of Staff Association.
 
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Jeffrey and his wife, Angelyn, reside in Washington, DC.
